  • How much will I be paid per hour? (new rates as of 1st January 2024)

    In addition to the rate shown above, you will also accrue holiday pay equivalent to 12.07%, to be paid out upon your request.

  • What is a typical shift length?

    Stadium Team: Matchdays - you would normally be required on-site for between 4 & 8 hours, with a typical shift being 6 hours long. Other shifts vary on request & availability.

    Arndale Team:  Shifts are typically between 6 and 8 hours long, running all days of the week. The trading hours are 9am - 7pm from Monday until Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

    Warehouse Team:  Shifts are typically between 6 and 8 hours long, running all days of the week. The business hours are 8am - 6pm from Monday until Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sundays.  Typical shifts are 9am-4pm Monday to Friday. 

  • How many hours am I guaranteed?

    All Teams: Due to the flexible nature of the work, you will be on a zero-hour contract. Stadium Team are expected to work every matchday.

  • When will I get paid?

    All Teams:  You will be paid on Friday the week after your shift(s).

    Weeks run Monday-Sunday, so for example, if you work on a Wednesday night, you will get paid 9 days later. If your shift is on Sunday, you will get paid 5 days later.

  • What tasks will I be expected to complete?

    Both Teams:  General retail duties. Your main focus will be on creating a great fan experience, quickly and accurately serving customers, ensuring adequate replenishment of stock, and occasionally working on a till.

    Other potential tasks you might be trained in include t-shirt printing and picking orders for Click & Collect.

    Stadium (Hospitality/Premium) Team: The team is divided, with some of the team providing a world-class experience to VIP guests inside the stadium. Other members of the team will be working in the external units around the Stadium. Both will be arranging delivery of Click & Collect orders, helping with the ordering process, and providing excellent customer service at all times.

    Warehouse work: We also offer shifts in the warehouse. This is a small warehouse where the focus is on garment distribution, unboxing, etc. It is not a large, Amazon-style picking/packing warehouse. All shifts in the warehouse are opt-in unless you are hired specifically for this role.

  • What training will be provided?

    Full training in the 'City Way' will be provided.

  • Do I need to have used a till before?

    No.

  • What is the dress code? Is there a uniform provided?

    A uniform is provided.

  • What will my typical day look like?

    You will be collectively briefed by one of the senior team, you will then be assigned a designated section or duty to complete throughout the day, these tasks can include shop floor service, using the tills, stock replenishment, or shirt printing.

  • Will I be needed on any days that aren’t matchdays?

    Absolutely, there is a number of fantastic events held at the Etihad Stadium that might require your support, in addition to days that are typically busy for retail.

    Matchdays don't affect the shift pattern at Manchester Arndale.

  • Do I get to watch the game?

    No, sorry! Whilst the stadium is a great place for football fans to work due to the amazing atmosphere at the Etihad, there is too much to do during the game for staff to watch the match.

    If you have a season ticket but still want to work for us, consider applying for our Arndale or Warehouse roles.

  • Will I be expected to serve food or clean toilets?

    No, this is a retail support role.

  • How old do I need to be?

    Stadium Team: We can employ from 16 years old, however some roles with more hours / flexibility requirements can only be offered to those that have finished education and therefore will be 18+. 

    Hospitality Team: 18+ only. 

    Arndale Team:  We can employ from 16 years old, however some roles with more hours / flexibility requirements can only be offered to those that have finished education and therefore will be 18+. 

    Warehouse Team:  18+ only.
